Ubuntu Vs. Vista

Posted by oneweelr27 - May 3rd, 2009

I recently bought a laptop that of course came preloaded with Windows Vista. Its a peice of shit, and im not really going to go into detail because anyone that's used it cannot deny that they miss Xp when doing even the simplest task. I decided that I'd had enough. I downloaded and Installed Ubuntu.

At first I was excited, looking at all my new features, and its design was great, but all went downhill very fast. I decided to install all of my programs, like i did when I switched form Xp. When I put all of my programs on Vista, I got about 90% of them to work, and the others I easily found replacments for them, but with Ubuntu? You have to be filled with knowledge about stuff that I've never heard of to use it. It is not an Operation System for jsut anyone, only for those who are Complete Computer Geeks. I only got one program to work, and the rest? I tried, a second program to work, but with Extreme limits.

I have a friend who likes to brag about linux, and say that Ubuntu could rape windows anyday, but he obviously obvioudly is only talking from his point of view, and are not concerned with the fact that I don't know what a kernel is. I switched back to Vista, and am still looking for a way to get Xp, but Windows no longer sells it, so I'm probably going to have to do some torrenting to find it, which is a program that runs without trouble on windows.
